Bridgend Sports RFC 10 Porthcawl 16

This match almost didn’t get off the ground at all as the referee arrived late following a hold-up on the M4 and the match finally got underway some 30 minutes late. With Porthcawl having arrived at the Bandstand Field unbeaten and the Sports smarting from losing the Bowl match between the sides just three weeks ago, this was bound to be a full-blooded affair. Porthcawl fielded a side shorn of the injured ace goal-kicker Josh White, with a broken finger and broken-thumbed No.8 Tom Butcher and the Sports seemed to sense their chances, especially as they requested passive scrums from the outs.....
